Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at IMPRO Amsterdam 2025. IMPRO Amsterdam is a festival run completely by volunteers, and it wouldn’t exist without you!
There’s a huge amount of different things that need to be done before and during the festival and it’d be great if you wanted to help us out. Doesn’t matter if it’s just for an afternoon, or if you want to help out all week, we love having you with us.
To join us as a volunteer, just fill in the form to let us know your contact information, when you’re available and for how many days you’d like to volunteer, as well as any special skills you have!
Important: We’re occasionally experiencing issues with our mails going to Spam. To make sure that we can reach you, please add coordinator@.nl and volunteers@.nl to your email provider’s list of known senders.
We have a few tasks to delegate for which we’d like someone to take charge. Want to help make the festival happen? Are you enthusiastic, able to work autonomously, and full of ideas?
Make the spaces that we use feel like a home to us: for a bit over a week we’re moving into the Zonnehuis and other community spaces, and we want to give it all a festival vibe. If you like decorating, have an eye for detail, and want to get playful with the space itself, we want you.
What’s a festival without an afterparty? We need someone to make sure that after each day of the festival we have a place to have some drinks, talk about the shows we’ve seen, bond with the people we met during the day, and make new improviser friends from all over the world. The afterparty on the final day of the festival is our biggest opportunity to let loose; you’re in charge of that as well!
Sound mysterious? It is! This year we have some special events and other experiences outside of the main program, for which we need some support. We’re looking for sneaky spirits who want to help build and execute surprises for our attendees, big and small. Just remember: the first rule of Sprite Club is YOU DON’T TALK ABOUT SPRITE CLUB.
Without you, the theatre wouldn’t be in shape for us to play in! Buildup is on the first day of the festival, Saturday, February 15. We need to get the Zonnehuis ready for a week of shows. The more hands we have, the faster it goes.
Teardown is on Sunday February 23rd, the day after the last shows. Teardown is the (unofficial) final party of the bit of work, followed by a celebration of the work you’ve done. Join us if you’re not quite ready yet to let go of the festival spirit!
If you’ve been to Impro Amsterdam before, you know that we use a lot of different locations for our workshops. We need to balance the requirements of each location with those of the workshops taking place there.
As a Location Manager, your tasks are:
Sometimes multiple workshops will start at the same time in the same location; in this case we’ll send another workshop volunteer to help check people in.
Making our evening shows run takes a lot of hands. The evening shifts are especially well suited for volunteers coming from out of town, because no knowledge of Dutch or of the area is needed. Tasks during the evenings include:
What would a festival be without some visual memories? We need photographers to snap the funniest faces, the tragic moments and the weirdest stage setups so we can look back at them later and remember all of it.
The same goes for videographers: we’re looking for someone to catch the vibe of the festival and make us a nice aftermovie. A couple of years ago, that looked like this.
As a thank you for all the time and effort you help put in, you’ll get the following benefits:
Our visitors are coming from all over the world, and Amsterdam is an expensive city: if you have a guest room or a spare couch and want to meet new improvisers, please get in touch! We’re always looking for people willing to host our performers, workshop teachers, and attendees. And who knows, you might come out of it with a new improv friend!
